Clayton County’s only Community Improvement District is ready to go after holding board elections Monday.
“We’re very excited about bringing this renewal to the county,” said Steve Berman, the newly-elected chairman of the Airport South CID Board of Directors.
A CID is an area in which business property owners agree to pay an extra tax in order to see improvements in the area. The CID has complete control over the additional property money to use toward beautification, infrastructure and public safety projects, according to a press release.
The Airport South CID consists of 31 participating commercial property owners including Prologis, Park ’N Fly, Courtyard Marriott Atlanta Airport South and Best Western. Those property owners elected six members of the eight-member board meant to govern the CID.
