Nickel Works Beginnings:

Nickel Works Consulting, LLC is a woman-owned firm, led by Nicole McGhee Hall, CPSM. The firm was birthed out of independent consulting & contracting work in 2009, primarily in the Architecture / Engineering / Construction (AEC) industries. Nicole and her team uses their private and public sector experience, as well as her technical knowledge and people skills to assist firms and organizations who were interested in growing their businesses in the public sector market. Additionally, the company has also directly assisted government agencies. Nickel Works has developed a niche for being the liaison that connects Business, Community and the Government.

Nickel Works is a registered vendor and has worked with several local governments and public agencies. The firm has a WBE/FBE/DBE certification as well as several in progress with agencies including: Fulton County Government, DeKalb County Government, City of Atlanta, Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority and Georgia Department of Transportation.

Nicole’s Bio:

Nicole McGhee Hall has been working in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) Industry for over twenty years. A native of Baton Rouge, LA, she received her BS degree in Civil Engineering from Prairie View A&M University in Texas. Nicole’s work experience comprises the public sector, the private sector, large firms and small firms before she branched out as an entrepreneur in 2009 and started Nickel Works Consulting. The primary services her firm provides are Business Development/Marketing, Government Relations, and Community Relations. She has successfully helped firms gain name recognition, win public sector projects, and establish organization systems and processes. Nicole enjoys using her varied work experience, technical knowledge and people skills to assist her clients. Most recently, Nicole has had success working with communities in the metro Atlanta area to advise, create and/or run Community Improvement Districts (CIDs), including Fulton Industrial (Boulevard) CID, East Metro DeKalb CID and Airport West CID, the first CID in the Aerotropolis area. She is currently engaged with other communities that are exploring CIDs and working with firms interested in economic development projects around the Atlanta airport area. In all of her endeavors, Nicole believes in teamwork and coordinates regularly with staff and officials at the Georgia Department of Transportation, the Atlanta Regional Commission and local governments. Nicole is actively involved in professional organizations, including Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), and the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).

She is also very active and passionate about public service and community activities. Nicole is a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and works in the community and region via this organization. Additionally, she serves on the United Way Advisory Board for South Fulton County and serves in the newly formed Linked UP Church. She has been permanently residing in Atlanta since 1996. Nicole has been married to her college sweetheart, Kelvin, for almost 20 years and they have one son, K. Nathaniel and a dog, Gizmo Zydeco.



Kelvin’s Bio:

Kelvin Hall has been working in the field of Architecture for over eighteen years. He is a native of Jacksonville, FL and received his Bachelor of Architecture from Prairie View A&M University in 1992 and Master of Architecture from Rice University in 1996. Upon graduation from Rice, he decided to accept a job offer in Atlanta and has resided there since. He has worked for a variety of architecture firms of different sizes and has developed a diverse portfolio of completed projects. Some project types include Mission Critical, Industrial, Educational, Institutional, Commercial, Governmental, and Religious. He is a licensed Architect in Georgia and Louisiana and a USGBC LEED accredited professional. Kelvin is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB). He is also very active in the community through his fraternity and church. He has been married for 19 years to his college sweetheart, Nicole, and they have one son, Nathaniel.


The Works Intern:

The Works Internship offers a unique experience through a 1-on-1 program with CEO/President Nicole Hall. By combining the three main components of Nickel Works: business, government, and community interns will gain valuable experience and and exposure through various projects and invaluable opportunities. (Beginning Spring 2015)
